I asked God for this,
and He delivered. We are clearly living in a Country Music renaissance. You could feel it coming about ten years ago in 2015, as Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, and Chris Stapleton were launching their solo careers, infusing brilliant songwriting into a genre that sorely lacked in lyricism in its mainstream. Those three have led me into the genre, but today, I find myself on the other side of the tracks - the lighter, party friendly side of Country. Here, with the Gabriel Key Band, I bring all of my versatility, covering all sonic gaps at some of the best live shows happening in Florida today. With Gabe at the head and ruthlessly talented musicians by my side, together, we are unstoppable.
All my love and appreciation to Gabe, Liz, Jean, Andy, Adiam, Julio, Anna (who took these lovely pictures), Alex, and everyone else who makes The GK Band a possibility.
“I will not attend another music festival until I’m playing it.”
— Caleb Jerome Morales at The Meadows Music Festival, Flushing, Queens, NY, 2016. Pictured below on February 7, 2025, the prophecy was fulfilled. While not the Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo style festival I expected, The 55th Everglades Seafood Festival was three days of live country music, carnival rides, arts, crafts, and tantalizing seafood, right there in the Stone Crab Capital of the World.
