Get to know Caleb
“If music be the food of love, play on.” -William Shakespeare
Born in Toronto, raised in Miami, and refined in New York City, Caleb Jerome Morales is a natural renegade, eschewing music industry norms while blazing his trail as a songwriter, musician, and producer. His catalogue is as diverse as the ethnocultural makeups of the three cities he has called home - ranging from Afro Cuban Funk to Alternative Rock; East Coast Hip Hop to Folk; Worship to Progressive House.
Beyond his original music, Caleb consistently offers his talents as a Sessions Musician to collaborators near and far. He can be seen all across South Florida on a variety of instruments with the acts Gabriel Key and Neon Nights.
His experience is as deep as it is broad. Beginning his performance life as a classical pianist, he received Superior performance, aural and written theory scores in annual exams at the University of Miami Frost School of Music for eight years straight. In high school, Caleb saw his undermanned Marching, Concert and Jazz bands as an opportunity to learn 10+ instruments, learning the roles of each instrument family intimately. This experience would later influence his trademark rich arrangements.
Despite taking time away from performing music at the University of Florida to focus on building his Marketing and Entrepreneurial skills in premier startup hub, Gainesville, FL, a broken dominant hand proved an opportunity to learn music production, with Caleb self-releasing his first official EP, Elevate, to great local success.
His aptitude in the business world then brought him to NYC, where he started the Sho & Tel Band, supporting Berklee alumnus and esteemed songwriter, Ali Zagame. There, they were frequently invited to perform at the world renowned incubators of Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, The Mercury Lounge, and The Cutting Room. With just a few dollars and two years of vocal training with Broadway coach Kevin Michael Murphy (The Book of Mormon) to his name, he cut his first studio single, “Amanda Soh,” in a freezing cold Bushwick basement.
Armed with these experiences (after all, if you can make it in NYC, you can make it anywhere), Caleb returned to South Florida to join Funk/Dance Band, Xotic Yeyo, who were the cornerstone of live party music until their disbandment in 2020, notably distinguished as the favorite band of the 2024 Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers. At the same time, he cut his first studio album, Community, a fifteen track rock opera and hero myth with Josh Cobb, godfather of North Florida’s indie music scene.
In 2024, Caleb focused his efforts fully on development, growing as a Recording Artist and Sessions Musician, releasing new and diverse tracks on a biweekly basis. Releasing over 30 songs in that time, Caleb’s portfolio ballooned well beyond his theatrical rock roots, now boasting a multi-genre playlist with something for any listener. That year, he joined pop quintet, Neon Nights, returning to the funkier side of music he missed dearly. He also carved out his dream role in Miami’s premier country band supporting Gabriel Key, covering a variety of instruments including guitar, keys, and banjo.
2025 brought focus and clarity to Caleb’s skyward trajectory, channeling his efforts into a new guitar-forward house project, Good Moraale. Inspired to carry the torch from fallen idol, Avicii, for the first time in his life, Caleb feels inspired to stick with one genre… for now.
The future is bright. With a clearer direction than ever and a deep love for what he is doing, Caleb is undeniably on a path to greatness.
