7 years of dreaming…

Throughout the life of Caleb Jerome Morales, there have been several turning points that have shifted his musical trajectory forever. Perhaps the most notable of those turning points was when a college classmate urged him to download a leak of Avicii’s new album “True” in Fall 2013. What he heard transformed him.

Attending high school just north of Miami at the dawn of EDM’s golden age, the genre formed the cult of personality for cool kids with parents willing to send them to Ultra. An alt rock kid on the outside looking in, Caleb’s trademark resistance to conformity could not withstand the allure of pounding bass, dramatic risers, and emotive synthesizers. Calvin Harris’s “You Used to Hold Me,” Swedish House Mafia’s “One,” and ultimately Avicii’s “Levels” would force his heart open. While he wouldn’t admit it at the time to his fellow emo kids, Caleb was beginning to view music differently.

From high school into his early college days, music was a way for Caleb to enter and embrace the darkness. Dark motifs, dark lyrics, dark guitar tones - music was a melancholic pursuit for our young visionary.

That all began to shift from the first chord loop of “Wake Me Up.” The way the acoustic guitar, Caleb’s premier songwriting tool, was seamlessly integrated into the swelling synths and cathartic drops planted a seed and created a superfan. Caleb studied every note Avicii would release over the next 5 years until…

Tragedy. Avicii takes his life on 4/20/18. Caleb, spiraling through challenges living in NYC loses his beacon of hope before ever seeing him live. He mourns, processes, and ultimately concludes that he will take up the torch that Avicii leaves behind. He works for seven years to crack the code on how to adopt the sound that made Avicii the GOAT and put his unique stamp on it. He writes songs that feel both like Avicii himself could have produced them while bringing a uniquely Caleb approach that would make Avicii smile from above.

Born from necessity

It took time for Avicii’s influence to fully transform Caleb. He continued to write, play, and indulge in darker music well after first hearing “True,” but throughout college and his early adulthood, he also dove deep into electronic music. Slowly but surely, he grew a distaste for darker music, particularly playing and writing it.

More and more, he grew to hate performing the styles of music that made him feel so low. He wanted to play music that uplifted both audiences and him. Avicii and other artists from the electronic scene proved that you can disguise darker subjects in brighter musical sounds to achieve a balance that raises people up. Caleb was finding his calling.

Avicii’s passing woke Caleb up to the reality that our time on this planet is finite, and we can choose which energy we put out to the world.

Over seven years, Caleb learned the recording arts, improved as a songwriter and producer, and built connections with teammates who could help him achieve his vision: to make uplifting music with those powerful builds and cathartic drops he came to adore.

Upon the completion of his first such track in 2023, “Face to Face,” Caleb started on his path. However, it wasn’t until the completion of his 2025 track, “I Swear to You,” that Good Moraale was born.

“I Swear to You” is an anthem professing Caleb’s commitment to honor his promise, to Avicii and himself, to always lead with love. The mission is simple and clear - in trepidatious times, the world needs good morale. Thus birthed the project, Good Moraale, with the extra “A” signifying Avicii’s undeniable presence in this project.

Good Moraale is both a solo project and a collaborative effort with others who keep Avicii’s legacy alive. While the future may hold different sounds, styles, and influences that may permeate Good Moraale’s music, the origin is clear: this is a project to carry the torch for Avicii.

Good Moraale is the uplifting, transcendent, guitar-forward progressive house passion project of Caleb Jerome Morales. Finally, he is making the music of his greatest desire.
