Metamorphosis

In tadpole days

My fleeting stage

On floating lily pads

I planned my future plays

In dazzling rooms

I gladly grew

Past the pond I put behind me

And find the man inside me

I once would sing with you

Our caterpillar tunes

Left in Roman ruins

In cast aside cocoons

Onto broadway

The meeting stage

I’ve pushed passed poor perceptual blocks

Collect gold bricks each step I walk

I’ve leapt over old Ben Hill

No leftover cold ill will

We leapt over  Ben Hill

Wash away the fears we killed

I once would sing with you

These praying mantis tunes

Restored the Roman ruins

From catalyst cocoons

I’ve flown from the past

I don’t grow too fast

I’ll fly forward still

Far beyond Ben Hill
